#1. Is a salt water swimming pool or an ozone swimming pool healthier if your dog drinks the water?
There shouldn't be a serious problem either way but if I had to choose I would choose to have a salt pool for this. Unknown to most people, salt water pools only contain 1/10th the amount of salt that the ocean has, the salt content is so low that you can hardly taste it when you are swimming and it shouldn't bother your dog as much as a pool full of chemicals.
#2 Do you need to drain a swimming pool to change from a chlorine to a salt water pool?
It is not necessary to drain the pool to change it over to salt water but it would still be a good idea to drain it in order to put fresh water into the pool and avoid the already chlorinated water entering the chlorinator.
#3 How many gallons are in a swimming pool?
I am a pool man, not a prophet, how should I know how many gallons are in you pool without seeing it? A good "in-the-ballpark" answer could be attained by applying the following formula.
Number of gallons in a rectangular pool= Length (in feet)x width (in feet)x average depth (in feet) x 7.4
Number of gallons in a circular or rounded pool=(the same three variables)x 6
#4 How do you drain a swimming pool?
We recommend that you use a professional to drain your pool for you. The cost will typically range from $50-$100. Make sure that the pool professional opens the hydrostatic release plug when they drain it and make sure that they drain the water into your main sewer drain in the front yard. If they drain it into the drain coming out of the house in the back or side yard it can clog up your piping and end up draining all 25,000 gallons into your kitchen. If they just drain it into the street you can be fined.
#5 Why are phosphates in my swimming pool?
Phosphates get into you pool through basically two methods. The first is due to chemicals being used in your yard that unintentionally are introduced into he pool. The second method for phosphates to get in your pool is through certain types of pool chemicals (especially tile cleaners).
#6 How do you measure water evaporation?
To measure water evaporation you will need to turn off the pools auto-fill and place a watertight container (preferable a bucket) into the pool and fill it up to the same water level as the pool. It may help to place something heavy in the bottom of the bucket to stop it from floating (this will have no influence on the measurement process). Over the course of a week or two keep and eye on the bucket water level compared to the pool water level. Since both the bucket and pool should evaporate at the same level, if you notice the pool level lower than the bucket level it is likely that you have a leak.
#7 How do you clean pool tile?
Trying to clean calcium deposits from pool tile is best left to a professional pool tile cleaner. They will use a sandblasting process that blasts of the calcium deposits without harming the tile. To visit a company that does this go to PoolTileCleaningLasVegas.com
#8 How do you clean the surface of a Murky pool?
One of the best ways to start the process of cleaning murky pool water is to thoroughly clean off the surface of the water. This can be done by squirting small amounts of "dawn" dish soap (make sure that it is phosphate free) into the pool. This soap will cause the surface matter to move to the sides of the pool where you can easily take it out with a net. For more information click here
#9 How much acid do you add to a swimming pool?
Acid is added to lower the PH level in your pool. Because of this how much acid you add depends on not only the size of your pool but also the PH level that your pool is at. Click on the link to find a calculator that will assist in this calculation.
#10 How do you lower the Chlorine level in a swimming pool?
The easiest way to lower the chlorine level in a pool is to dilute the chlorine saturated water with chlorine free water by partially draining the pool water level and refilling what was drained with fresh water. Once you have done this you should have lowered the level enough to start the process of balancing the pool again.
